Welcome to the Skype for Windows portion of the Skype Archive, this is the largest part of it, containing over 1000 files. Release versions are organized by version number in the root, beta and preview versions have their own folders, so do Skype UWP, TOM-Skype, the Skype Pictures and the Skype Other folders. - FAQ - What is the difference between the "MSI Installers" and the "Extracted MSI Installers" folders? - These do not have a traditional Skype MSI installer setup UI, but instead they just install when you run them. - (This is also why they are named Skype x.x.x.xxx.msi instead of SkypeSetup x.x.x.xxx.msi) Why do some installers have a different number instead of a 0 in the version string? - See PARTNERIDS.txt for more info. Are there any versions missing in this archive? - Of course, you can find the current list of missing versions we know of in MISSING.txt. Why is there only one file in the Skype Other folder? - I cannot identify where CyberPhoneK-setup.exe goes, no file metadata (file version etc.), the installer fails - because "ActiveSync" isn't installed. Why are there only two files in the Skype Previews folder? - Very simple, because Skype only released two Preview branch versions before retiring it and then readopting the - "Preview" branding for Skype 8, but those can just be considered Betas, these however, were different. - Skype 2.6.0.44 and 2.6.0.53 Preview came out in a time where Skype already had a Beta branch and they even state - in their About menus and titlebar that they are "PREVIEW" versions, not Betas. - Tutorials - Want to learn how to extract the MSIs out of Skype installers yourself? 1. Open up Command Prompt, type in the path to your Skype installer including the exe itself (example: "C:\Users\Mike\Desktop\SkypeSetup_7.8.0.102.exe") 2. After that, add the command line argument /extractonly:"your_path_here" 3. Replace "your_path_here" with your actual path and run 4. You should now see a folder inside the path named a bunch of random letters and numbers, that's where the Skype.msi is. IMPORTANT: Even though there also is a Skype.msi in the root of the path you specified, it is a mere stub and does not contain the actual logic needed to install Skype from scratch. - WinReset
